A while back, CBS's Early Show did a report recommending Chiropractic as a treatment option for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
CBS medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton noted that some studies have shown alternative treatments such as chiropractic and dietary changes to be beneficial for children with ADHD.
The report stemmed from a recently released study in The American Journal of Psychiatry suggesting that children and teens who take stimulants such as Ritalin for ADHD have an increased risk for sudden cardiac death.
I have personally seen positive results in children with ADHD with chiropractic, supplementation and dietary changes.
Further information may be found in The Journal of the American Chiropractic Association (JACA). Search the JACA index for "Children with ADHD: Medical vs. Chiropractic Perspective and Therory."
